Our daily flock of Redpolls rises and falls in number on any given day,
but hasn’t been below 25 in some time. Yesterday there were between 75
and 100 swarming around and below the feeders. I’ve spent quite a bit
of time trying to pick a Hoary out of the swirling flock, and finally
yesterday I was able to confirm one- that makes a new yard bird for me.
