3 of us, too, were in C area Sun and, indeed, had similar experiences...
more or less so.....
Shelburne Bay - 1-2pm
Bald Eagle - still picking food off ice and flying E. to eat
Snow Goose - black wing tips seen when it flapped - but way across the bay
from the boat access with many CAGO
Mallards - 100+ feeding in among ice chunks along shore
Blacks - 20+
Large flock of Ringbills
C. Mergs and rafts of Goldeneye
Charlotte Beach:
Common Loon 1
Horned Grebes - 20+ these guys just kept popping up! What fun!
C. Mergs and rafts of Goldeneye
S. of Button Bay:
Turkey feeding in field - 100+
N. Shrike - 1 (target bird!)
Champlain Bridge - 4:30 Blackbacked Gulls on ice flow but none of those
birds reported by Ted and Allen. Were we in the same place???? Yes - but
on the wrong side, at the wrong time - AND without the POWER of a Murin
scope!! Seeing through that is BELIEVING!
For the day add 4 Ravens, 1 Great Blue Heron (in Danby), 2-3 pair
Bufflehead - 1 Grouse (Manchester) and Redtails 10+
So who enters this in ebird? and how? generally by area? specifically by
site? hourly by viewer?
