On this spring-like January day, I encountered a Belted Kingfisher at the SB
fishing access, perched atop one of the dead trees at the mouth of the
LaPlatte River. It has been awhile since I have seen a kingfisher here. I wonder
where they hang out during the winter.

Also, 1-3 adult bald eagles continue to put in an appearance here (as well
as the occasional VTBirder).
