This report is a week late but may be of interest nonetheless. Last Tues. (1/2) a Carolina Wren was heard singing in Springfield from the wooded hillside behind the state office building on Mineral Street. CWs began showing up here at least summer before last. During the spring-summer seasons, they're very much in evidence. Also, on 1/2 a Red-tailed Hawk being mobed by two American Crows along I-89 in Sharon, and a Northern Shrike was sighted perched on a power line along Rt. 12A in Braintree.
