I throw this out for thoughts about what this might have been...
A nearby neighbor with a high comfort level and knowledge about all things
natural, called with a question about a night sound heard a couple of weeks
ago during full moon time. She was in her house about 8 pm and heard an
animal/bird noise loud enough to draw her out of her house. It was squawk
like akind to a heron. I appeared to move from one point to another (not
back and forth) and continued for about 35-40 vocalizations. I know Great
Blue Herons are around due to the open waters but are they wont to call at
night, continuously? Do owls make squawking sounds? My caller is very
familiar with Barred, Horned, Screech Owl calls - as well as raccoon and
Does anyone have any thoughts about this?
