I cannot resist sharing my favorite patient missunderstanding.
I was taking the history of a new patient, who had previous vascular
surgery at another clinic... she told me that her foot had a looked really
bad a couple years ago, and that the doctor <in her old town> had fixed it
with a lunch meet bypass.
I was taken back a bit. But then asked "what did you say your bypass was
made of?"...thinking maybe she had a rare bypass with a bovine graft or
She said it was made out of Bologna!
Well, after starting the test and seeing this great saphenous vein bypass
that went from her CFA to her PTA is occurred to me.
so, so, sorry for going with the impulse to share that ;)
