A nice surprise today - a new life bird! Lone COMMON SNIPE foraging
in the drainage ditch adjacent to the New Englad Federal Credit Union
on the Harvest Lane side (corner of Williston Rd and Harvest Lane).
The bird was very patient as I watched it with binocs from 50 feet away
and ruled out woodcock, ruff, stilt sandpiper, etc. Then, he flew a
short distance and demonstrated the zig-zag flight pattern which is a
hallmark of this species.
