At 11:30am today, I saw a 2nd year Bald Eagle on Cedar Beach Rd adjacent to the public boat launch. The bird had two silver bands, one on each leg. It was perched in the top of a tree and scanning the open bay. It appears that this is one of the few bays still open and lots of other waterfowl are congregating here, including Goldeneye, Bufflehead, Black Duck, Common Merganser, Hooded Merganser, and gulls. I also heard a Downy and a Hairy nearby and there was a small group of Robins. I didn't see the eagle at 1:30pm when I came back through.
The siskins are continuing to sing at our feeders just up the hill and yesterday I watched them giving flight songs.
