Welcome to Vermont. Now that everyone has had a chance to express their
opinions about the merits and demerits of the available books on birding in
Vermont, let me put in a plug for the weekly Rare Bird Alert compiled by Mary
Holland at VINS and for the new column on birding which appeared for the first
time in the Living Outside section of the Burlington Free Press on Friday and
which will be appearing there weekly. Both of these sources provide useful,
current information about birding in Vermont.
On occasion, I have found that the searchable archives of the VTBird list
have been a useful resource, also, especially if I am interested in locating a
specific species or exploring a new area.
We will look forward to your postings as you become an active Vermont
birder. Good luck and good birding.
