DESCRIPTION:
Are you a Help Desk analyst, team lead, supervisor, manager or director
looking for ideas about scheduling student workers and motivating your
support team? Are you ready to learn about local professional affiliations
and hear about various support models in use at other institutions? If so,
then this SIG will interest you!

The University Help Desk now plays a critical role in supporting the
technologies that drive a university. Keeping this important organization
running is no easy task. Issues surrounding managing and motivating
students workers combined with those of more strategic importance like
industry best practices and determining which support model to adopt on
one's own campus keep Help Desk managers awake at night!

This Help Desk SIG will offer attendees some new ideas and perspectives on
these and other issues as well as provide a means for University Help Desk
professionals to network and share ideas with their colleagues.

We will also have representatives from the Help Desk Institute (HDI) New
England Chapter on hand to talk about the resources and networking
opportunities that an affiliation like HDI can offer.
