Today at the Retreat Meadows seen from the Marina side at 12:00 o'clock there was a male and female Northern Shoveler. They were both standing on one of the far banks sleeping with their heads tucked in the entire time I was there. There were also 5 Tree Swallows, and from the Rt 30 vantage point there were 5 Ring-necked Ducks, and 10+ Common Mergansers, along with Canada Geese and Mallards. I went back to the Retreat Meadows at 4:00 hoping to get a look at them moving around, but they were gone. Taj Schottland Putney
