VermontFest - 2006
CALL FOR PRESENTERS
The Board of Directors of VITA-Learn invite you to submit a proposal for a
presentation at Vermont’s premiere educational technology conference,
VermontFest, which will be held at the Grand Hotel in Killington, VT on
November 2nd and 3rd with pre-conference hands-on workshops on the
evening of November 1st. Like the recently highly successful Dynamic
Landscapes conference, the intent is to re-focus this conference on
classroom examples of technology integration.
We encourage you to submit a proposal. We are open to any and all ideas
including new applications of software and hardware or old applications
used in new and/or effective ways. We are looking for a good mix of
workshops aimed both at the classroom teacher and some that focus on those
who support technology integration including the
“technologists” and school leaders.
Some of the very best presentations at Dynamic Landscapes were classroom
teachers who hadn’t done anything particularly innovative but rather they
just had good solid examples of using technology effectively in their
classroom. The teachers who attended these sessions loved them!
If you are receiving this e-mail chances are you care deeply about
effective technology integration. Please help. Ask someone you know who
is good at their profession to share what they know by submitting a
proposal for VTFest 2006. I have found that sometimes teachers who have
not presented before may need a bit of handholding at first and sometimes
even a little support with the write up but once they get “in the groove”
they will love the experience and are usually deservedly quite proud of
themselves. Please offer your support! And let’s not forget about YOU!
How about you submitting proposal yourself? Often, the teachers and the
people who support them on this list are best in the business.
