Canoeing north of 17 my daughter and I saw or heard the following birds:
2 American Bitterns, flushing readily as the high water afforded very
little protection
1 black-crowned night heron
2 osprey, nesting
several nesting pairs of canada geese, saw one nest with a clutch of 4
1 virginia rail
2 no. harriers
several green-winged teal
1 blue-winged teal
several snipe
singing swamp sparrow
mallard
wood duck
