Despite the downpour, Delta Park had lots of surprises in store this 
PM.   From 3-6 pm I observed 26 species including TRICOLORED HERON, 
SNOWY EGRET, COMMON MOORHEN, WILLOW FLYCATCHER, PIED BILLED GREBE and 
others - eBird list attached).  
 
The TCH was verified by another birder. It is a mature adult in breeding 
plumage, including white plumes atop the crown.  It was hanging out with 
Snowy in the middle of the marsh (now quite flooded), the first time I 
saw it (shortly after 3 pm).  Both birds left, cleared the trees to the 
south and I thought were gone.   About an hour and a half later myself 
and a second birder I called to the scene got another great look at the 
TCH (probably the same bird) or a perhaps a second one.   On the second 
sighting, TCH was alone...   
 
Well worth a soaking!
