At West Rutland Marsh this morning from 10-11 I saw the following:
Yellow Warbler
Barn Swallows
Tree Swallows
Swamp Sparrows
Marsh Wren
Red Wing Black Birds
Heard but not seen:
Bittern
Sora 6-8 calling around the board walk
There was a lot of activity and it was a great time. I was amazed at how
much activity there was at the marsh and would highly recommend it right
now. It was much more alive than Dead Creek which I also visited today.
The only thing I saw at Dead Creek was a Red Tailed Hawk, some Canadas and
Red Wings.
Meanwhile at the feeder:
Pine Siskins again, a lot!
Gold Finches by the hundreds
Purple Finches
Rose Breasted GrosBeak still only one
Evening Grosbeak, a pair still
Turfted Titmouse pair
Downy Woodpecker Pair
Yellow Bellied sapsucker yelling at me all day
We think the White throats have moved on
Cardinals
Grackles
Starlings
Red Wing BB
Cow Birds
Blue Jays
Chipping sparrow
Chickadees
King Fisher
Tree Swallows
Canada Geese only 2
Male Mallards and one or two females
A great day on the road for Pete and at home for me!!
