October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month. This year's theme is "Americans with Disabilities: Ready for the Global Workforce." (For more information see http://www.dol.gov/opa/media/press/odep/odep20060804.htm )

National Disability Mentoring Day is part of this month's efforts to highlight employment.

Please consider participating in Vermont's Disability Mentoring Day planning activities for your area. It is a terrific opportunity to develop new relationships with employers and to help individuals learn more about their areas of interest. Such efforts in the past have resulted in jobs for people. See information from Bryan Dague below for the upcoming meeting on June 22, 2006.
