The Farrell Access of Dead Creek WMA is described in Murin &
Pfeiffer's "Birdwatching in Vermont", pages 62-65. From Panton Rd. x
Jersey St. in Panton, go south on Jersey St. for 2.6 miles, continuing
straight on Goodrich Corners Rd. where Jersey St. bears right, and
look for the poorly marked fishing access sign on the left. This is
an interesting birding area but often overlooked. The phalaropes were
seen from the end of the fishing access road, looking south across the
open water of Dead Creek. If not seen there, try looking at Stone Dam
and Brilyea Access areas too, because there is a lot of open water.
