Here is my 2 cents ---- I don't think that you have an obligation to do
anything except record the mortgage. If they record it in the wrong town
and you don't know that because of the description, that is not your
problem. We shouldn't be turning away anything that has all the proper
documentation attached (ie. PTR accompanies deed, etc.). If someone
brings in something written on a paper bag and wishes to record it with
us, we need to record it - as long as they pay the fee. I agree that
some of these title companies/attorney offices are submitting more and
more 'shabby' documents for recording; but that is not our issue.

Are we suppose to then go and make sure it is property located in our
towns? Or do we record it regardless.
Quite often I get recording documents from Norwich, CT. I quickly can
recognize that it is not in my town by the address.

I have seen it before. It's a pretty shabby way of doing it, but I
think it is acceptable if that is they way they want it.

Subject: Recording-Washington Mutual
Hi,
Has anyone received any mortgages from Washington Mutual where in the
exhibit section, rather than have an attached exhibit, they have placed
a
sticker with the deed recording information on it ?
Is this acceptable for a description of the property? I have never seen
this before.
Thanks,
Bonnie
