As Vermont towns grow, some are deciding that they are too large for the
traditional town meeting model. Many assume that the only alternative to
the traditional floor meeting is a switch to Australian ballot. Not so!
“Representative Town Meeting” has been used successfully in Brattleboro,
Vermont for decades, as well as in dozens of towns across New England.
ä How does it work?
ä What are the pros and cons?
ä How and why might a Vermont town make the switch?
Vermont’s larger communities should be sure to join us for this panel
discussion and Q&A session.
