This afternoon the Burlington Police Department issued a statement
indicating that they have charged Brian Rooney with aggravated homicide in
the death of Michelle Gardner-Quinn. A link to that statement is available
at the end of this communication.
Burlington Police Chief Thomas R. Tremblay also expressed his condolences
to Michelle's family and friends, and to the university community. He also
expressed his gratitude to the university in general and to our students
in particular for all the assistance and support that his department and
other law enforcement agencies received.
