Transportation and Parking Safety Update
Please be aware of the following options for traveling on campus and/or
the adjacent neighborhoods in the evening. Planning is your best defense.
*First: Know the shuttle schedule*
On Campus Evening Service: Shuttle service is available at 15 minute
intervals until the library closes. This includes service until 2:00 am
during finals. Shuttles leave Wing/Davis/Wilks and Mercy Hall (on Trinity
campus) on the hour, quarter hours, and half hour. (The off campus bus
serves all campus locations, so you can take either bus to get where you
are going.) See the route map for details on service to your residence
hall or the commuter parking area. (Jeanne Mance Residents see the Off
Campus route.)
Off Campus Evening Service: Service leaves Patrick Gymnasium every half
hour (on the hour and half hour) until the library closes. This loop
serves Jeanne Mance and the neighborhoods to the west of campus. See the
on line route map for stops and times.
Late Night Service (Thursday, Friday, Saturday): Service continues the off
campus route until 3:00 am. See the route map and schedule for times on
your stop.
*Second: Plan Ahead*
Using public transportation takes planning. Know when and where you plan
to catch the bus and be at the stop a few minutes before it arrives.
*Third: If All Else Fails*
If the shuttle system cannot meet your need, and you find yourself needing
a ride on campus you can call Police Services at 656-3473. This is an on
campus service only. If you are off campus, you should call a cab.
It is never a good idea to walk back to campus alone at night. WATCH OUT
FOR FRIENDS and never let them walk alone either.
*Parking On Campus*
All areas of campus require a permit to park between 7:00 am and 3:30pm
Monday through Friday. Lots adjacent to residence halls require a
residential permit at all times.
Parking is allowed in the Given, Agriculture & Engineering, and Gutterson
lot after 3:30 pm without a permit. The remaining lots (except
residential) are available for open use after 6:00 pm, all weekend, and
during University holidays.
For your safety do some research, plan ahead, and be aware of your options
at all times. Safe transportation requires thinking.
