Hi all,
I received this from EWB-USA. I think that it would be great if we
could present. We have accomplished a lot so far and I am so proud of
our group; I think that we would do an excellent job. This is also a
way for possible donors to see us and learn about our project, and we
will get $100 for presenting.
They would also like for us to make a poster. We could make a
really nice poster with the pictures andy and shanta will take and the
ones that kristin is sending. Is anyone really savvy with making
posters or know someone who is? The dean's college wanted
professional looking posters made of each CEMS organization and have
us design them. We could use the same poster for both.
Let me know what you think
Thanks!,
Jacquie

Subject: Project Process, EWB-USA Grants & Conference
Hello Everyone,
This is just an e-mail to update you and your chapter on important
upcoming events, grants and processes for project. We recognize that
everyone is working very hard on their projects, so we try to make this
as concise as possible. Remember, this e-mail is where you will hear
about *EWB-USA grants* first.
1) _Project Process:_ Unfortunately, several chapters have been
submitting late for implementation trips, which makes it very difficult
for the staff. Therefore, starting next month, we will *not be
accepting late submissions* (without prior approval), and chapters will
instead need to delay their departure dates. For a concise overview of
the process, see this webpage:
*EWB-USA Project Process <http://www.ewb-usa.org/ProjectProcess2.php>*
If you have questions about the process, please do not hesitate to
e-mail or call the office. Our goal really is to work with you.
However, when chapters travel without following our process, it causes
us considerable time to follow up on the situation and JEPARDIZES ALL
EWB-USA projects. Therefore, if a chapter travels without approval, we
will be charging an additional variable project fee based on the amount
of administrative support your chapter requires.
2) _Spring Conference:_ The EWB-USA international conference will be
held April 12 -- 14, 2007, University of Massachusetts-Amherst, MA.
Please take a look at the *conference webpage
<http://www.ewb-usa.org/ConferenceInfo.php>* to learn more about the
following:
· $1,000 & $5,000 grants
· Conference Scholarships
· Registration Information
· Film Festival
· Poster Session (we'd like to have posters from all projects,
even if your chapter is unable to attend)
3) _Project Presentations at Conference:_ EWB-USA is looking for
chapters to present about their projects at the EWB-USA conference.
Specifically we are looking for chapters to discuss their lessons
learned in one of the five areas listed below. Chapters will receive
$100 for presenting.
· Example of Rural Development
· Example of Positive Health Impact Project
· Positive Environmental Impact Project
· Positive Economic Impact Project
· Positive Cultural Impact Project
4) _Assessment Checklist (505):_ EWB-USA has developed an *assessment
checklist <http://www.ewb-usa.org/ProjectsDownloads.php>* to help
chapters in their quest to obtain all the necessary information for
their projects. We recommend everyone takes a look at it prior to travel.
Thank you,
Meg VanSciver
