	I once had occasion to look up this verb in a legal dictionary:
"Knowingly present a false picture, with intent to mislead."
	That is a meaning which is wanted from time to time; I 
suggest however that if all one means is something less damaging, e.g 
"present a misleading picture, but without clear motive", one should 
not use this important verb 'misrepresent'.
