Hi all,
I hope that your first weeks at schools went well. I have just
found out that applications for new coordinators for next year need to
be in by next week (specifically during the day this coming Monday!)
Sorry about the short notice, but don't worry, the applications are
pretty short and easy so they are totally do-able for this weekend.
If you are interested in being a co-coordinator for next year, and
training with Sarah and me this semester, then please please please
fill out an application. Also, please email Sarah and myself to let
us know that you have filled out an application. Just as a reminder,
here is a very basic explanation of the position. Please don't
hesitate to email or call with any specific questions or concerns
about the position. It's really a fun job and I'm sure that whoever
takes on this role will enjoy getting to know their co-coordinator and
working together with them on the SEEDS program!

Description of program: SEEDS works throughout the Burlington area in
after school programs, educating children on the importance of
protecting our environment through crafts, games, and activities.
Students are paired with one to two other volunteers where they work
together to devise lesson plans and activities focused around
environmental topics. We are strong believers of community and
place-based education and strive to foster an appreciation among the
future leaders of the world!

Qualifications: Must express an interest in environmental education.
Experience
working with children and designing lesson plans preferred. Applicant
should have a strong work ethic, be flexible, and creatively minded.
Ability to work together with one other coordinator a plus.

Job Description/Expectations: We will train you this semester and ask
you to volunteer at schools through SEEDS if you are not already doing
so. As a coordinator, you will be responsible for contacting schools,
pairing students at schools, designing lesson plans for use and
distribution, holding biweekly meetings, etc. You will act as a
resource for your volunteers.

Start Date: Training--Spring semester 2007, start as full time
coordinator--Fall 2007.

For more information/details on this position please contact Sarah
Wilkins or Heather Fjeld at the email addresses listed below

We hope to hear from you soon!!!!
