I arrived at Moose Bog this morning to find the Three-toed in the same
area. The Black-backed was in the next tree over. As I tried to get some
photos of the Black-backed, the Three-toed flew in and drove the
Black-backed off the tree and took over. So the Black-backed flew over to
the same tree the Three-toed was in, then left after a few minutes.
I got some clearer photos of the Three-toed, and also a couple of a Boreal
Chickadee. The Boreal was in with a small flock of Black Caps. I posted
two photos of each at the link below. Just click on the "next" to cycle
Also many WW Crossbills and siskins around. Also saw a Red-breasted
I stopped at Victory Bog on my way back. There were a few Crossbills and
siskins there as well, and a few Juncos. I also found a bunch of BC
Chickadees feasting on what appeared to be two skinned beaver carcasses
someone had placed in a tree!
