There was an even larger flock of both species, both males and females,

There is a nice collection of 10 Hooded Mergansers and a half dozen Common
Mergansers swimming in the open water near the ferry dock at the Charlotte
Ferry (McNeil Cove). These birds are fairly close in and easy to observe.
