This past Saturday there was a Northern Shrike in the top of our Black
Walnut tree.  What surprised me was that there was one Blue Jay and four
Chickadees kind of surrounding it. The Blue Jay was the closest, and when he
got even closer the Shrike fanned its tail feathers and started jabbering at
it. It stayed around for a few minutes, but eventually realized it was
outnumbered and left.
