A sidenote about Carolina Wrens and feeders (by coincidence, one
showed up on our feeder today for the first time in ages)-- in our
yard, the Carolina Wrens this summer showed up on our suet cage a
-lot-. I was able to get photos of them during July and August
eating from our feeders:

These were taken from 7/22 - 8/5 of 2006; they'd started showing up
on the suet feeder (much more often than any other feeder) a few
weeks prior and would still show up on the suet feeder throughout the
late Summer.
This is just a data point and not an argument. This was in a
southeastern VT yard with lots of abundant foliage which attracted a
wide variety of birds, some to the feeders and some to the foliage;
we've had quite a few warblers that I never saw on the feeders along
with lots of other birds. While wrens may not appreciate feeder seed
in general, the ones in our yard seemed to be really into the feeders
throughout the warm weather season.

We've heard that a million monkeys at a million

this is not true.
