Spent the afternoon at Dead Creek. The Brilyea Access about 50% thawed below
the causeway giving good open water for ducks including displaying Hoodies,
some Ring-Necks and a very active Coot. A flock of about 250 Snow Geese were
feeding at the very eastern edge of the viewing area, the rest I observed
were flying overhead including a single flock of 400.
And for mammal lovers, I saw a Mink and watched an Otter devour about half
of a Carp before it decided it didn't like me looking at it while it ate and
carried it off to a more private spot.
