Glanced out my North Williston kitchen window Monday morning to see a male Am. Robin at my (heated) bird bath. I have seen and heard flocks of robins in the area over the past few weeks, but to see one at my backyard feeding area so early was a delight!
North Williston is still agricultural/woodland/suburban. Common at my feeders this past week have been: large (30-40) flocks of Am. Goldfinches, small flocks (12-14) of N. cardinals, flocks of 15-20 Mourning Doves, some Purple Finches just starting to appear, D.E. juncos, titmice, B.C. Chickadees, Red- & White-Breasted Nuthatches, H and D Woodpeckers (2 Pileateds observed at my suet last week have not reappeared), with an occasional Brown Creeper or Sharp-shinned Hawk.
