At SBSD we use several GNU products:
Nagios / Cacti
RRD tool
Ntop
Squid / dansguardian (clamav)
ARP watch
MYSQL
Apache/php
PHP Myadmin
Postfix / mailscanner /mailwatch (clamav, spamassassin)
Open LDAP
Open ssh
Samba
Moodle/Drupal
Openfire
Nessus
Two of our support engineers are using Fedora Red Hat for their
workstations.
We are always looking for and trying other products so a compiled list
would be great.

Subject: Who is using Open Source in VT?
Dear Pizza Attendees - and non Attendees
As was discussed during today's conference, one of the
questions
that is often asked around Open Source use in schools is 'Who else is
using Open Source?' While we had an impressive show of hands at the
conference, it would be even better to have a more specific list of
people/schools that are using FOSS solutions and which programs
people are using.
If people want to reply (on list or off list to my email), I
would
be happy to compile the results and either send them out to anyone
that replies or post the final result back to this list.
In a related question, would there be any interest in forming a
Open
Source and Education Users group?
Thanks,
Bryant Patten
