(Very) late last night Flo Levin and I called in a N. saw-whet owl while
atlassing on Grassy Brook Rd. in Brookline. It came right over to some
spruces along the road, though it was too dark to catch a glimpse.

I have read that this is the best time of year to get them to respond to
calls and this checks out with my very limited luck in doing so in the past.

Nice bird.
