Almost perfectly on schedule, we had three new arrivals in the backyard this
morning. Was first awakened by the morning calls of our annual Eastern
Phoebe, already claiming one corner gable of the house for nesting, and then
under the feeders, a Fox Sparrow was doing his dance and then a little
later, a male and female brown-headed cowbird were at the feeders.
This in addition to the throngs (35+) American goldfinch and dark-eyed
juncos, two pairs of purple finches, pair of northern cardinals, chickadees,
white and red-breasted nuthatches, and titmice.
