After visiting with the Black-tailed Godwit for the second time today , Team Pipit headed up to Ferrisburgh this afternoon for the two drake Eurasian Wigeons in the flooded field near the corner of Sand Road and Grosse Pointe Road. Easily found along with a Glossy Ibis (which we hadn't heard about).
Then, heading back along Hawkins Road towards Little Chicago Road, we spied a muddy area near the road: (2) Greater Yellowlegs, (2) Lesser Yellowlegs and (1) Black-bellied Plover (very early - and rare at any time in the spring in Vermont). Molting into breeding plumage - not a knock-your socks-off specimen as was the godwit but a nice addition for the day.
Also an after-dinner cordial: two second-year Bald Eagles.
