Jennifer, I am not speaking from experience, as I do not have a "zon ahr ay"
to take portable as you do, but I spent some time at their booth over two
days at the LARS conference this weekend. .. and I wonder....
The base unit does come off the "mother cart" but is that always necessary
when going portable? The stand has wheels and handles.
I would feel more secure having the whole shebang sit in the hallway rather
than tote the "handheld" unit into the crowded and busy nurses station, or
leaving it on a precarious surface in the pt room. And then there are some
pt rooms I DO NOT want to set ANYTHING on their bed. .. Having the mother
stand gives you a place for charts and gel etc. so I wonder (my question to
you) when you go portable, do you always leave the "cart" behind?
Has anyone bounced a portable unit? Did it survive?

PS both the vendors and the speakers were good,
interactions (Q&A, networking) OK.
