In order to give some "sense" of control over the computerized/central scheduling system, a "key" staff member and manager should have access rights to the program. They had the ability to block times, rooms, types of procedures...and even add or open rooms, etc. In order to overcome challenges in last minute staffing changes, you could designate an OP room and IP room. Then, you could close or reschedule a room as needed.
