Now that the VBBA survey work is coming to an end I have another project
that might interest you all and keep you from having withdrawal symptoms
next year when you have nothing to do. I have spoken to the heads at Hildene
(Robert Todd Lincoln's Estate-located in Manchester, Vermont) and proposed
doing a survey of the birds found at Hildene year round-nesters as well as
pass throughs. They were very excited about the idea. They have over 400
acres of varying habitat with groomed trails to see the birds. There are
maps available at the visitors center to show the boundaries of the campus.
I will coordinate the information you all submit-don't know the format yet.
What I need at this point is any and all sightings of birds found on the
campus-where they were found and the date and if they were breeding/nesting.
You can email me directly-just reference Hildene in the subject line, call
me, mail it to me or leave the information at the visitors center at
Hildene. Thanks in advance for all your help.
