Thank you, George, for the reinstatement of Michael Balter.
Welcome back, Michael.
And to all: let's please tone down the sarcasm as well as the ad hominem
attacks. I know these pheonomena will still arise occasionally, so let the
rest of us complain when it happens, for the record. It is, IMHO, entirely
appropriate for postings to be strongly criticised when there is strong
disagreement, but it should be done in a more principled manner than has
frequently been the case in the recent past.
I personally would like to continue to enjoy the list without feeling a need
to use the delete key too frequently. From recent postings I would guess
that I've used it less often than many others.

Please save this message for future reference, especially if this . . .
[I plan to 'take a little break', though I believe we ought
to do some creative thinking about how to make the SftP archives useful
as sources of information. But right now I'm exhausted. George]
