Greetings,
Four of us from GMAS went on a quest for migrating shorebirds at Delta Park
IBA this hazy, humid am. Despite more exposed shoreline than we have seen
there in a long time, we almost struck out, seeing only an adult and
juvenile Spotted Sandpiper. We had a small bonanza of gulls and terns
though, most resting on snags in the mouth of the Winooski River. The list:
2 D-c Cormorant
6 Canada Goose
8 Wood Duck
13 Common Merganser - 2 females, each with young of different ages
3 Great Blue Heron
2 Spotted Sandpiper - adult and juv.

14 Ring-billed Gull - adult and juv.
3 Great Blacked-backed Gull - juv.
3 Bonaparte's Gull - juv.
