I had a pretty good look around Dead Creek this morning looking for
the Hudsonian Godwit in some vague hope that it had stayed put all
night. After looking for a few hours I felt pretty confident that it
wasn't there but I did see a few other somewhat noteworthy birds:

Wood Duck
Mallard

Bald Eagle
Northern Harrier (Harassing the Gulls!!!)
Broad-winged Hawk (In the Woods)
Red-tailed Hawk
MERLIN (Fly-by up the creek)
SEMIPALMATED PLOVER (4)
Killdeer
Greater Yellowlegs
Lesser Yellowlegs
Solitary Sandpiper (1 or 2)
Semipalmated Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper
SILT SANDPIPER (1) (W/ the yellowlegs near the 2nd parking lot)
Ring-billed Gull
Morning Dove
Belted Kingfisher
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Northern Flicker
PILEATED WOODPECKER (flew-by TWICE! by the 1rst Parking Lot)
Easter Wood-Pewee
Barn Swallow
American Robin
Black-capped Chickadee
White-breasted Nuthatch
Blue Jay
American Crow
Common Raven (calling)
Yellow-throated Vireo (2, Heard only)
Warbling Vireo (Heard and Seen)
Red-eyed Vireo (Heard and seen)
American Goldfinch
Common Yellowthroat
Song Sparrow
Red-winged Blackbird
Baltimore Oriole
Thanks for Mike Lester who joined me in the morning from UVM (and
found a whole bunch of stuff for me), and Sean Beckett who showed me
around Dead Creek in the late morning. Good luck at College Sean,
don't worry I wasn't too late for class.
Also from a visit last Saturday to Dead Creek:
1 Juv. Black-crowned Night Heron
1 Yellow-bellied Flycatcher (Dive-bombing my car)
P.S. I tried looking for the Loggerhead Shrike yesterday with Mike
Lester that was reported on Old Stage Rd. No such luck there
either. Sean Beckett was also looking for it but also couldn't find it.
