I cannot speak specifically about Goshawks but I have both observed and heard reports (birders, state park naturalists, etc.) that there seem to be an unusually high number of Broad-winged Hawks and Red-shouldered Hawks this year.  At least this seems to be true in northern Vermont.
I have seen an adult Broad-winged Hawk most days in the past month in north central Vermont.  I have seen them in Calais, Montpelier, Elmore, Middlesex, Worchester, East Montpelier, Berlin, Groton, Morrisville, Green River State Park and probably some other towns I cannot remember.  All within the past month.
Curious whether others have noticed the same thing.
