After a summer without hearing much thrush song, I was getting rather
discouraged. I mentioned to someone yesterday that I had not heard a
Wood Thrush anywhere in my travels in VT this summer. Last evening, I
decided to take a stroll on my road (Howe) in the late evening.
Thrushes were abundant in the little over half mile stretch from my
house to the Northfield line. There were 3 Hermits, 1 Veery, and ,
voila, a Wood Thrush singing vigorously just at the town line. I slept
very well last night with their songs lingering...
