Three of them, circling low overhead and calling, as I left my house around ten a.m. yesterday. They drifted southward, still circling, till they disappeared beyond the distant trees.
A little later, I came upon another one hunting above a brushy lane.
But in general, I am seeing far fewer hawks than I normally see in this area at this time of year. Virtually no red-tails. Only perhaps an occasional sharp-shin.
