While canoeing on Dead Creek (north of Rt. 17) yesterday, I came across a very early SNOW GOOSE. It didn't appear injured, but let me approach quite close to it as it stayed on a mud flat just before the open water. I also saw 4 BALD EAGLES (1 adult, 2 2year olds and 1 unknown), 1 NORTHERN HARRIER, 1 CATTLE EGRET, 1 GREEN HERON, and at least 17 GREAT BLUE HERONS. There were an additional 27 Great Blue Herons and 2 Great Egrets on the flats by the Brilyea dike.
