Thanks for commenting on, Terry.
A more comical program could have been, "A walk at Dead Creek", instead of
the taped Walk in the Woods, though. For on my recent shorebird visit, in a
repeat of what happened several years ago, I walked too close to the muck,
and instantly sunk in about two feet, my shoes sucked off my feet. Although
I recovered my shoes this time versus those still buried the first time, they are
a total loss. One of the definite disadvantages of being a bird photographer
and trying to get down low and close for shorebird compositions versus using
a spotting scope from a safer distance. So when reflecting back on those
Baird's photos, it did cost me a pair of shoes, socks, possibly my jeans, and a
lost camera part. But again, if filmed, could have provided quite a laugh. So
enough with shorebirds. Bring on the Rough-legged hawks, Bohemian
Waxwings, and Snowy Owls!
