Some good birding at the North Branch Nature Center this past week. Lots of
migrant sparrows - especially White-crowned and Song, but also Swamp and
Lincoln's. I've never seen so many white-crowns here before - most of them
hanging around by the community garden. Also a lone VESPER SPARROW last
Friday - again hanging around the community garden.
Both species of kinglets around as well, including a singing/displaying
Ruby-crowned Kinglet yesterday. Also a new bird for the property yesterday -
a PEREGRINE FALCON which flew over quite low during lunch.
And this morning there were flocks of American Robins flying over, along
with some Eastern Bluebirds mixed in.
