A sandhill crane flew across Rte. 127 (The Beltline) in the Intervale in Burlington this afternoon at about 5:15pm. It flew west and circled to land in the lagoon area on the west side of the road just north of where the railroad tracks cut under the beltline.
The nearest safe access is the trail to the sea caves - often referred to as the blind - across and south from the bus stop on North Ave. at the high school. The southerly part of the lagoon may not be visable from there. Stopping on the beltline would be very hazzardous.
