My point is hardly to have folks watching video instead of real birds.
But I've found that for digi-scoping, the video mode on point-and-shoot
cameras (at least mine) tends to be more forgiving on focus and
exposure. This may help birders who are trying to document rare or
unknown birds by digi-scoping. It may come in handy, for example, the
next time some rare Tyrannus flycatcher shows up on a wire somewhere!
