I spotted a northern shrike behind the water treatment plant off of Rt. 30 near
the West River about 9:30,10/28. A single black vulture was circling about in
the direction of Putney Rd. A lone snow goose, a great egret(which was still
there as of 5:00pm,10/29), and a pair of common mergansers were among
hundreds of C. geese in the river.
At home in W. Bratt., we've had 3 fox sparrows,a chipping sparrow, a few
white-crowned sparrows, and many white-throated sparrows. A flock of ~35
cedar waxwings and 2 palm warblers(eastern) visited us on 10/27. A male red
bellied wp has visited our suet the last 3 days.
