Jane,
No need to apologize for sending the story to the list .... at least in
my opinion. It was indeed a wonderful accounting and it just made my
day and perhaps my entire weekend!
Historically I keep an old pie basket (with a lid and lined with an old
dishtowell) on our porch . Many a chickadee or other feeder bird that
has knocked itself senseless on a window has spent an hour or two in the
pie basket in the warm kitchen having a chance to regain it's
equalibrium. When I think the 'guest' is ready to leave I just set the
basket outside, lift the lid and away it goes!
Has anyone heard about writing on a window with a yellow highliter to
prevent the birds from inadvertantly flying into the glass?
